CCOA Best Practices Awards Committee

The Commonwealth Council on Aging’s Best Practices Awards was established in 2006 to recognize and encourage the replication of model programs, particularly those that foster aging in place, livable communities and home and community-based services. With financial support from Dominion Energy and AARP Virginia, the Council encourages the development of these innovative programs.

The Best Practices Awards Committee consists of five (5) Council members and meets twice a year. The Best Practices Awards Committee, in collaboration with the Virginia Center on Aging, creates scoring procedures and selects winning program based on a set of criteria that is established prior to the request for nominations.
