Managed by the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), Pathways connects Virginians with disabilities to meaningful careers and job training programs in high-demand, high-growth industries—all while helping Virginia businesses meet their workforce needs, for today and tomorrow.

The program amplifies DARS` traditional vocational rehabilitation (VR) services by offering an added layer of supports designed to help individuals find not just a job, but a pathway to a great career with opportunities to earn more and be promoted into new positions.

Our focus is on high-growth career opportunities in the following areas:

Apprenticeships:

Pathways offers you hands-on opportunities to “learn while you earn” and gain valuable industry credentials through our partnership with Virginia's Department of Workforce Development and Advancement.

STEM-H Careers:

Pathways can help you explore and train for careers in high-growth industries, including science, technology, engineering, math and health care (STEM-H).

State Government Careers:

Virginia's Alternative Hiring Process helps qualified individuals with disabilities find state government jobs with good salaries and benefits. Pathways can help you learn about public sector careers and how to apply for an Alternative Hiring Process Letter.
